If you are looking for a great ski holiday then few come as good as Val d Isere. 300km of high altitude skiing and limitless off-piste. It also has some of the best apres-skiing too. Whilst it might be closed at the moment for the main skiing, its only six months until the new ski season starts so now is the time to book.

There are so many good things to say about Val d Isere, its high altitude location (1,850m), its skiing up to 3,300m, then there are the 300kms of pistes too. But one thing that stands out probably most is its ski in ski out chalets. In Val d Isere it is located in a naerrow valley and as a consequence there are several ski chalets that reaally are just on the piste. So for some of the best skiing in the world on your door step, Val d Isere really is a great ski destination.

Ski Chalets

Powder chalets are a new company who will soon be bringing you great ski chalets in great ski resorts across the Alps and is set to launch at the beginning of October with a number of chalets across Europe and in 2011 the USA too. Chamonix, Verbier, and Val d'Isere are thre resorts that will be heavily featured we are told, with Powdeer Chalets offering some of the best chalets in the Alps here in Val d'Isere.

Skiing Half Term

AThere probably isn't a better resorts to ski half term in comparison to Val d'Isere where we combine fantastic high altitude skiing for all the family with a charm and sophistication that few resorts come close to matching. However, this comes with a price, and that's availability, as one of the most sort after luxury ski resorts the chalets don't remain available for long, especially when we talking the ski half term week.

Luxury Catered Chalet

Occasionally we come across great chalets in addition to Val d'Isere, and as Chamonix is one of my favourite getaway ski resorts along with Val d'Isere, you may not be surprised to find that this chalet is in Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley.

Clearly we are bias towards Val d'Isere, but for guests who may find that Val d'Isere is a stretch to far on their ski budget, Chalet Prarion is a great luxury catered family chalet that is well worth considering, having six bedrooms that accommodate up to 12 people, a Games Room, cinema projection, sunken hot tub, 4 staff, and yet the price varies between £7,200 to £14,500 at the peak season.

Gay Ski

Pink Ski, who are due to introduce a gay ski holiday site for gay skiers and their friends and family. The prime focus being to provide information on the places for the best welcome and some great skiing too. We wish them well.  

Easter Skiing

It always a slight anti-climax, even after a great Easter ski holidays, but the end of the Easter ski break is the signal typically that we are slowly entering the twilight zone of the season. A great Easter ski break with some fantastic fresh snow that summed up a great season. As we see out the last few ski days, we won't be packing up at the end of the season and will keep posting latest news and articles.
